Lawmakers play a vital role in shaping policies that protect individuals from sexual grooming and exploitation. Advocacy efforts that target legislation and policy reforms can result in concrete protections, including stricter laws on grooming, improved education programs, and stronger enforcement of child protection laws.

To engage lawmakers effectively, advocates must research existing policies and legislative gaps, build strategic relationships, present credible data, and propose clear legislative solutions. Simply identifying problems isn’t enough—lawmakers need concrete policy recommendations such as improved legal definitions of grooming, enhanced support services, or stricter penalties for offenders.
