Hello everyone, welcome to the course on menstrual equity and period poverty.

This course, Menstrual Equity and Period Poverty is designed to educate and empower advocates, community volunteers, educators, and policymakers on menstrual health and period poverty. The course addresses the biological, social, economic, and policy dimensions of menstruation, equipping participants with the knowledge and skills needed to advance menstrual equity.

Through interactive modules and practical strategies, this course aims to:

  • Provide an in-depth understanding of menstruation and the menstrual cycle.
  • Explore the concept of menstrual equity and its importance in global health advocacy.
  • Address period poverty, its causes, and sustainable solutions for marginalized communities.
  • Analyze cultural stigmas and misconceptions surrounding menstruation and develop advocacy strategies to challenge them.

  • Equip participants with the skills to implement and measure the impact of menstrual health initiatives.

Upon completion, participants will have a strong grasp of menstrual health advocacy, be equipped to lead awareness campaigns, and contribute to policy dialogues on menstrual equity in Nigeria and beyond.
